Sonos Move 2 is a speaker built around a focused set of features. Not all Bluetooth speakers are created equal. Key details include Powerful, wide-range sound, Dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and Weather-resistant IP56 rating.
The specification also includes Battery rated for up to 24 hours, Sonos app support and automatic updates and Trueplay tuning for optimized sound in any space. For a speaker, connectivity and intended placement matter as much as headline output. Battery models prioritise portability, while mains-powered desktop speakers can devote more space and power to continuous listening.
Bluetooth version, wired inputs, stereo pairing and app control are useful only if they match the devices already in the room. On Sonos Move 2, Voice assistant support (when on Wi-Fi) and USB-C connection plus included charging base are also part of the specification.
Size also affects expectations: a compact enclosure can be convenient, but it cannot provide the same physical low-frequency extension or maximum output as a much larger system. The main compromises to keep in mind are Larger and heavier than many portable speakers and Some features require Sonos app.
Some offer portability but compromise on sound quality or smart features, while others deliver rich audio but only work at home.
It’s not the cheapest choice, but its combination of power, versatility, and seamless integration with the Sonos ecosystem make it a standout option for anyone who values great audio at home and on the go. Portability, power source and the devices you want to connect are the most useful points of comparison.
For regular use, compatibility and physical convenience tend to matter more over time than novelty.
For a home setup, allow for any cables, stands, pedals, cases or other accessories that the intended use may require.
Those practical details can change how well Sonos Move 2 fits into an existing setup without changing its core specification.
Overall, Sonos Move 2 has a clear place when its specific feature set matches the intended use. Its combination of powerful, wide-range sound and dual-band wi-fi and bluetooth connectivity gives the decision a concrete basis. The limitations above are worth weighing against those strengths rather than assuming that a more expensive or more heavily featured alternative will automatically be a better fit. That keeps the comparison grounded. Those are the practical priorities. That keeps the buying decision grounded in practical needs.
